With thanks to all involved, last night’s performance went very well. The art exhibits were phenomenal, and as I listen to the recording, I hear some really fantastic musical moments. A success in every measure. My perpetual thanks to everyone — artists, musicians, Haven House board and friends, attendees, sponsors.

This week we’ll be giving “Rachel Rising” its first public performance, hopefully the first of many. Rehearsals have been good — one always wishes for more time to pull things together, but I think it will go well. We’ve had some good publicity around the event, thanks to Blount Today, The (Maryville) Daily Times, and [...]

Great news: we have secured a location for the performance, and therefore an exact date and time.
Our heartfelt gratitude to Fairview United Methodist Church in Maryville Tennessee for extending their generosity to this project! The space is beautiful, both visually and acoustically, and will be a gorgeous setting for this important event.

Eleven years ago after surviving a particularly precarious (long story) ordeal, I wrote a this poetry cycle. Because I'm a singer, I have been trying to find a composer to set it in a song cycle for me to sing. Over the years I have asked three, all of whom expressed interest but could not for whatever reason get involved at the time.
